23 DJ Ryan Wolf: The Beard Got The Last Word
DJ Ryan Wolf never planned any of this. He grew up in church seven days a week, ran the soundboard on Sundays, and taped songs off 93.1 so he could learn every word. In college he sold throwback jerseys, burned mixtapes, and chopped and screwed records on a computer program under the name DJ Wannabe. All three volumes sold out.
Then the day jobs. Top salesman at Enterprise until a manager told him he didn't look the part. He kept the beard. A $100 fill-in at a Cleveland bar brought in everybody who would matter, and it moved fast from there. Ray Jr.'s DJ. A Def Jam showcase at SXSW. A seat in OG Ron C's ChopStars. A mixer slot on Z107.9. And one office meeting where his boss told him he might want to sit down.
Wolf closes on the part he says he can't skip. When he needed help, the Heavy Hitters showed up and showed out. He calls them real family. No five-year plan. He loves what he does, he's walking in faith, and he's booked for the retreat in Miami. Beard included.
